MN Wheelhouse Collective is a coalition of people, groups, and organizations that have come together to support and build upon current mutual aid efforts. Our coalition members are involved in mutual aid, health/wellness care, reuse/repair/recycle/reclaim efforts, sustainable food systems, regenerative agriculture, co-ops, and local/community ownership of land, commodities, and goods. We are fostering a sharing/caring economic ethos across the Twin Cities and Minnesota. Our goal is to create a system that will better meet community needs (food, housing, health, essentials), improve our sense of community, and build community resilience. Solidarity, not charity; cooperation, not competition; social democracy, not hierarchical alienation are our mantras.
The Wheelhouse seeks to connect with people who are building or want to build the new economy. When we put our heads together, we win. Wheelhouse connects and supports local efforts and educates people in the development of circular (reuse, recycle, refurbish), sustainable, cooperative economies that meet basic (food, water, shelter, safety, wellness, etc.) and beyond needs of Minnesota communities. In the long- term, we will foster the creation of a community built, led, and owned system that sustains people with minimal help from government or traditional charities. We will challenge and supplant current oppressive, unhealthy, and non-sustainable systems. The future WEconomic system will be powered and owned by the people for the people.
The development of a cooperative, community powered system is crucial for human sustainability as governments and extractive economic systems fail. This is not new; it is already happening around the world. Join us as we work together to make living in Minnesota even better.

The Wheelhouse currently has several “spokes” focused on health/wellness, reusing/recycling, food/sustainable agriculture, and family support. Others, are planned (e.g., safety/housing, education, banking/finance, water, commerce, etc.)
